Dr. David Gamez is at the University of Essex, UK, where he is working on a project to build a conscious robot. His previous publications include a co-edited collection of essays on contemporary philosophy, What Philosophy Is (London: Continuum, 2004) and papers on philosophy, machine consciousness and artificial intelligence.
